Travels of An Epicure was considered an instant classic on its release in 2019 and has gone on to win an army of worldwide readers with its exotic tales and incredible characters, straight from the pen of world-renowned lifestyle writer, Nick Hammond.
There is simply nothing else quite like Hammond’s funny and evocative series of standalone stories, each told in searing detail and each linked, like golden thread, by his love of a fine cigar.
Hammond is a long-time supporter of the world and UK cigar trade and is a respected writer, author, and journalist. He won the inaugural 2013 Spectator Cigar Writer of the Year Award, wrote Cinco Decadas: The Rise of The Nicaraguan Cigar for the Joya De Nicaragua factory, and his work has appeared in the likes of the Daily Telegraph, The Times, FT How To Spend It, Country Life, Shooting Times, Cigar Journal, Cigar Aficionado and many more. He has just completed the manuscript of a brand-new biography of one of the world’s biggest cigar makers.
“It’s been a long time coming, but it’s very nearly here,” says Nick. “So many people have asked for a sequel, and I’m delighted to be able to finally provide it. I can safely say it will give you even more of what you loved about the first book – fantastic illustrations, lashings of laughs, clouds of cigar smoke and something to think about along the way. And we are again using this book to help underprivileged children in Nicaragua.”
Travels of An Epicure started a fundraising drive for impoverished Nicaraguan families, which has so far raised more than £10,000 and counting.
The book also spawned a podcast of the same name, which has been listened to by over 35,000 people in more than 130 countries. The podcast will return with new episodes on the back of There And Back Again.
