Araperique is one of the rarest and most sophisticated tobacco types in the world. It provides the special note in the aromatic blend for this unusual longfiller cigar. Masterfully blended with other prestigious tobaccos for a refined, aromatic and truly exciting flavour experience such as you have never had before.
Araperique tobacco is matured using the ‘Methode Perique’ which is still based on the methods used by Choctaw Indians—and this is how Araperique is made from Arapiraca raw tobacco. The tobacco is harvested leaf by leaf and stripped by hand after drying. Layered in oak whisky barrels it matures for at least a year under high pressure. During this process it must be re-layered several times in order to achieve uniform fermentation and for it to finally develop the decidedly spicy aroma so unique to Araperique.
Hand made in the Dominican Republic, Buena Vista Araperique cigars have a flavour that is aromatic and full of character, with highly noticeable notes of roasted coffee, accompanied by a light sweetness, making an intriguing contrast to the notes of cinnamon and fruit so typical of Araperique tobacco.
